The ASLA EXPO is the best-attended event of the annual meeting. In addition to nearly 350 exhibitors, attendees can enjoy a silent auction, awards presentations, portrait lounge, networking and a host of other opportunities. Take your time as you browse among the exhibitors to discover the latest tools, technology, services and design solutions.

2. Education

The event is more than a trade show! Extensive education opportunities are available, including 122 education sessions, 16 field sessions, five workshops and two general sessions. Attendees can obtain a certificate providing proof of their professional development hours (PDH) earned throughout the annual meeting. Topics are varied, including:

  • Planning and design (education, healthcare, parks, urban, residential, etc.)
  • Historic preservation and restoration (examples, best practices, etc.)
  • Plants and soils (management, plant selection, ecology, etc.)
  • Green Initiatives (renewable energy, green roofs, stormwater management, etc.)
  • Technology (CAD, GIS, BIM, etc.)
  • Marketing and Business Development (business growth, culture, licensure, etc.)
  • And much more!

3. Sustainable SITES Initiative

Additional inclusive events include sessions specifically designed to further the Sustainable SITES Initiative, a rating system based on a set of comprehensive, voluntary guidelines that assesses the sustainable design, construction and maintenance of landscapes. It is used by landscape architects, designers, engineers, architects, developers, policy-makers and others to guide land design and development for open spaces, streetscapes, campuses, residential neighborhoods and a host of other applications.
